            As mentioned above I received two blistering sunburns at age 10 and 11 and the risk of later developing melanoma significantly increases when you get such sunburns between the ages of 10 and 19. The rest of my life I was pretty careful in the sun though I did spend most of my summers in the sun working with my father. I always wore a shirt and frequently slathered up with suntan lotion. But back then we did not have the special SPF cloth that would have given me greater protection as my back baked in the sunny slope of hundreds of roofs that my dad and I reshingled over a period of 10 years
