You might question the value of setting up an on-line mailing list. I can't tell you how much it has contributed to my well-being and my recovery. To give you an idea of the feedback that I've received I've abstracted some select feedback that continues to help bolster my spirits and body.

Keep up the good healing. I shall continue to pray for you.

Hi Guys. . .got your latest news from the 'far north' and keep thinking
good thoughts for you BOTH!  This, too, shall pass and we'll all look back
on this and laugh

I vividly recall my first appointment with my surgeon after my surgery.  [To this day I can recognize his footsteps as he's coming to the room I'm in to examine me.]  On my way down the corridor their was a woman talking to her doctor and I overheard her doctor say approximately "congratulations, it's been five years and I won't be seeing you for quite some time now."  Instinctively I knew that 5 years was an indication of some type of milestone in the recovery (not cure) process.  That was 4 1/2 years ago.  I tell you this to remind you that you too will have the same conversation with your doctor in several years.  It will happen.  When I was a younger man an organization I belonged to has as its' motto Semper Fideles.  You keep the faith....I'll keep praying for us.

We'll continue keeping you both in our prayers (you must be getting tons of those by this time!!!) and will keep sending those good thoughts and messages to you both.

Thanks for the update, and the adorable pic of Joe and granddaughter.
Know that we are thinking of you two very often in the day and are
sending our best energy out to you during this next most difficult
phase of the battle. As always, if there is anything we can do, if you
need help with the house, etc., we're a phone call away.

You lick the cancer and smell the roses--letting us sweltering city rats
live vicariously through your kayak excursions and wildlife strolls, of
course.

And speaking of pictures, the two baldies ARE cute, indeed.  But I'd put my
'cute bucks' on the younger of the two.....

Your notes make me appreciate the small things in our lives that we often
take for granted or worse yet never even see. Just finished a two week
vacation the family and you can't imagine how many things I never noticed
about them. It was glorious and all thanks to you and Joe.

Thanks for keeping me on the list. These messages mean a lot.

Can't tell you how inspirational you two are....in this terrible time of crisis, you actually are helping us focus our lives on what is important.

Hang in there buddy.

I truly believe that a positive attitude plays a large part in the way we see our health problems. We think of you often and will keep you in our prayers.

Oh, I love this good news. Joe, you're amazing. Keep those doctors thrilled and that pasta coming! We think about you both so often.

Keep up the good work on your side and all of us will carry our end.

I'm thrilled also for you Joe. Maybe our prayers are being answered -- gosh it's been hard keeping up with them!!

Thanks for sending such a warm and rich message to everyone about Joe's progress. There is just an enormous amount of love out here for him and you.

I know there's some tough road ahead, but the outcome is what counts and we're counting on it to be the best!

I am so glad to hear that treatment is soooo successful!! The good news truly made my day. As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks so much for these regular updates (and fun titles, like SEXY BALD GUY). They mean a lot, and I'm sure take a lot of energy and time; I'm grateful to be on your list.

My thoughts are with you and Joe and YES it is important to smell the roses.

Thank you for the update. You and Joe have been a comforting presence for so
many years now, even from the geographic distance that has separated us.
Together you share a strength in your relationship and determination, but
it may help you a little to know that there must be plenty others of there
who, just like me, are invoking our powers to root for Joe.

Way to go Joe - You see Bald can be Sexy - why did you wait so long?

He could not have found a better companion to take such good care of him. we
are glad to hear that the tumor is shrinking.

Your strength and willingness to bet this disease will get you through it. Thinking of you, Regina and family.

We were all heartened to hear that you've maintained your good spirits and are excelling in meeting this new challenge that life has thrown your way.

Good afternoon, soon-to-be Mr. Cue Ball!

What a glorious Father's Day you must have had! Thanks so much for the update - and the very good news re. your progress.

Wonderful! Wonderful! Great to have news, especially this good. Looking forward to the Yul Bryner/Telly Savales look! Also good to hear that you're feeling OK.

I received a copy of one of your more recent messages, which noted that Joe will probably be holding a wine lecture at the hospital! Although my time at Whittemore was relatively brief - I can see this happening! Anyway, know that you are in my thoughts.

You have a great outlook and that will give you great strength to beat this cancer.

We know that you both will make it through this with grace!

If anyone can plod through these treatments he can particularly with his will of ten men attitude!
